今晚趁闲功夫，把我的fedora14的mysql安装下，顺便是把Linux里面的mysql的GUI操作软件也使用下，之前没接触过，不过感觉对我来说都不难。好吧，开始吧，我的运行的命令我会以红色标记给显示出来，保证每一步的执行都能够看得清楚，也方便我以后自己查阅。

我采用的是YUM源安装，当然，也可以自己手动下载编译安装。用YUM源安装方便快捷，综合上面的界面，也就是两行代码：
- yum install mysql-server.i686
- yum install mysql-workbench.i686
安装好之后，我们要查看下mysql的服务启动了没有，用如下命令：
- service mysqld status
- service mysqld start
[root@local ~]# service mysqld status #查看mysql的服务状态
mysqld is stopped
[root@local ~]# service mysqld start #启动mysql服务

To start mysqld at boot time you have to copy
support-files/mysql.server to the right place for your system
PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password' #修改root用户的密码
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h local.ypf password 'new-password'
Alternatively you can run:
/usr/bin/mysql_secure_installation
which will also give you the option of removing the test
databases and anonymous user created by default. This is
strongly recommended for production servers.
See the manual for more instructions.
You can start the MySQL daemon with:
cd /usr ; /usr/bin/mysqld_safe &
You can test the MySQL daemon with mysql-test-run.pl
cd /usr/mysql-test ; perl mysql-test-run.pl
Please report any problems with the /usr/bin/mysqlbug script!

下面，我们就修改下mysql的root用户的密码：
- mysqladmin -u root password 'root'

好了，现在我们已经登录进来了mysql，下面我们就去测试下我们的GUI的工具吧。
mysql-GUI的菜单
点击进去，如下界面：
MySQL Workbench首页面
点击右下角的New Connection：
Setup New Connection
在这个界面，输入相应的信息，点击OK，就可以新建一个连接了，然后在Open Connection to Start Querying下面单击新建的连接，就如下界面，一切ok。
